Can anyone draw?

Yes anybody can draw. In fact i believe anyone can do anything especially if someone else can do it.  I do not think drawing is a natural talent or born talent, but just like any other skill that you learn and fine-tune. No artist that i know was born with the ability to draw proficient, but the skill was developed over time. People can draw better or more accurate than one another because one has maybe had more practice or experience, which is the most important in any artist. Without experience then their is error and that error is caused by a lack of understanding. Understanding and applying are the two concepts i like to use with referring to art and its creation. To create art you first have to understand what it is that your are making. After you have figured that out it is just a matter of applying that understanding to create the art. When drawing it is always important for a artist to keep his attention on one thing, that creation. Drawing a picture is as simple as looking at something and copying. If you were drawing a bowl of fruit, how would you start? First you have to understand what you are drawing and how to apply it to the paper. Do not look at the bowl of fruit as just a bowl of fruit, but look at it as a portrait of a bowl of fruit; a still image.
You have to understand that it is a portrait and no longer an object, because an object is 3-dimensional not 2-dimensional. Once you understand the basic outside shape of the picture, you focus on the biggest areas of the picture; the ones that stand out the most and you sketch them first. It is good to work the smaller and least important details last, although every detail is always important. Anyone can draw, you do not have to born with the skill, because it is a talent that can be developed. Anyone can become a great artist it just takes hard work and practice. ~Blaze 1
